Property Accountant

We are seeking an Accounting professional who will work with a team who is responsible for the accounting and reporting of a portfolio of multifamily apartment communities and support the assigned portfolio's residential operations. As a Property Accountant you will perform accounting tasks that support the residential management division.

Essential Job Functions
- Maintain the general ledger trial balance, review invoices, and ensure transactions are properly recorded in a timely manner for a portfolio of residential properties.
- Oversight of transactions recorded to accounts receivable and accounts payable for a portfolio of residential properties.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures and financial reporting, including applicable tax and audit requirements for a portfolio of residential properties.
- Determine, document, implement, and ensure ongoing compliance with all residential accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with on-site property management teams to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
- Assist in creating and updating annual operating budgets for a portfolio of residential properties.
- Utilize technology in a forward-thinking manner to drive business efficiencies and improved performance.
Requirements

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Yardi or other property management software
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Required: 1-3 years accounting experience
- Preferred: Property accounting experience
