About the Role

Description

Guardians of Honor is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). 


Job Objective:

The Business Development Analyst supports day-to-day activities associated with business development, proposal management, proposal writing, and capture. Please note that this is NOT an entry level position, and you must have recent and highly relevant experience in business development, federal proposal coordination, and/or capture to be considered.


Business Development Tasks:

  • Meticulously maintain company pipeline database and business capture document library
  • Pull agency forecasts on a recurring basis and assist with identifying opportunities to add to company pipeline database
  • When a new RFP is released - update calendars, update pipeline, fill in bid/no-bid form, schedule bid/no-bid meetings
  • Prepare agendas and other collaterals for weekly BD/Capture calls and opportunity review meetings
  • Attend weekly BD/Capture calls and opportunity review meetings, take notes, and update pipeline
  • Complete GovWin Searches/Runs and organize large batches of data in Excel
  • Provide supporting data to qualify opportunities during gate reviews
  • Research outreach events and marketing opportunities, maintain in database, and coordinate attendance
  • Maintain GOH company profile in federal agency vendor database systems
  • Develop and maintain partner and client contact database and assist with maintaining regular communication
  • Develop data calls to assist with capability/gap analyses

Requirements

  

Competency (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

  • At least 4 years of experience directly relevant to this position
  • Strong understanding of the federal BD/Capture lifecycle and RFI/RFP process
  • Expert MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills
  • Proficient in Acrobat, MS Teams, and Zoom
  • Graphic design and Smartsheet proficiencies are a major plus
  • Familiarity with GovWin, FPDS, and SAM.gov preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior staff and senior executives in fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Ability to work independently and within groups effectively
  • Must be able to work productively with minimal oversight
  • Must be solution oriented and take initiative to learn on the job
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of normal business hours (only when necessary to meet deadlines)
  • Interested in growing within the areas of business development, capture, and/or proposal development
  • Proposal writing experience a major plus!

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A


Reports to: Business Capture Manager 


Work Environment: The work environment is a typical office setting or virtual/remote setting. 


Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing. 


Position type and expected hours of work:  Full-time exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 40-60 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime is expected during peak periods. 


Travel: 20% local and regional travel, with overnight stays necessary 


Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree Required 


Additional eligibility qualifications: A minimum of 4 years of industry-specific experience required
