Description
The IT Manager at Hyper Solutions leads the company’s Information Technology function, overseeing strategy, infrastructure, security, and systems that support manufacturing, engineering, and business operations. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology that enables operational excellence and business growth in a dynamic industrial environment.
Serving as the primary IT leader, this position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain to align technology investments with business priorities, strengthen cybersecurity posture, and drive digital transformation initiatives across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and execute Hyper’s IT strategy, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives across manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and sales.
- Lead and develop the IT team and manage external service providers, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
- Own day-to-day IT operations, including networks, servers, endpoints, telephony, cloud platforms, and production-critical systems.
- Oversee enterprise systems including NetSuite ERP, MES, PLM, engineering tools (Agile), project management, inventory, and CRM platforms.
- Establish and maintain cybersecurity, data privacy, backup/recovery, and incident response programs aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, and industry best practices.
- Manage the IT budget, vendor relationships, contracts, and technology procurement.
- Lead IT projects and digital initiatives, including system upgrades, cloud migrations, enterprise ChatGPT deployment, and manufacturing automation/IoT integration.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to assess technology needs, implement solutions, and improve business processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to data security and privacy.
- Collaborate with Facilities on physical security systems, access control, and badge management across Hyper locations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and reliability; lead troubleshooting and root-cause resolution for infrastructure and application issues.
- Drive continuous improvement of IT service delivery, documentation, and operational standards.
- Support disaster recovery planning, business continuity testing, and risk mitigation.
- Provide executive-level reporting on IT performance, security posture, and project progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments, ideally with exposure to automation, electrical products, or OT/IT systems.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, virtualization, cloud) and enterprise platforms (ERP, MES, PLM, CRM).
- Demonstrated experience leading system implementations, upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Proven expertise in cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing IT budgets, vendors, and mixed internal/contracted teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on, solution-oriented approach with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, CCNA, Microsoft/Azure, or similar.
- Experience with industrial control systems (ICS), OT/IT convergence, or IoT in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with data analytics platforms, AI/ML tools, or digital transformation technologies.
- PMP or formal project management certification.

Onsite in Richmond, VA
Compensation
The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $115,000 - $135,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications and location. This hire will be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
