Role Responsibilities


TCCI is looking to grow our Decatur, IL based Engineering organization. In support of our growth and new market opportunities, the Company is seeking to hire a Process Engineer to support our mechanical and electrical compressor product lines. In this role, the Process Engineer will work with internal stakeholders inside our Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the Company produces a high-quality product that meets the needs of our customers. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing industrial processes and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety within our operations.



Requirements

 Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing current production processes and devising solutions to optimize production through design, implementing, and testing the effectiveness of new procedures.
  • Creating and maintaining manufacturing documents including Process FMEA, Process flow and Control Plans. All documents created will be held to TCCI APQP Process engineering standards, which includes VDA 6.3 auditable verification.
  • Creating and maintaining Work Instructions for all manufacturing processes. All documents created will be held to TCCI APQP Process engineering standards, which includes VDA 6.3 auditable verification.
  • Enhancing operational efficiency and contributing to product quality, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
  • Monitoring and evaluating ongoing processes and recording pertinent data related to part failures.
  • Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering to create designs of identified improvements of the assembly processes.
  • Working within the requirements of the EMS system and making efforts to reduce product related and machine produced waste.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of process design, optimization, and improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and familiarity with the Phases and elements of APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) preferred
  • Knowledge of electric or hybrid electric vehicle drive systems and application
  • Experience with HVAC or refrigerant system

Experience with compressors or expanders


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
