Position Title: Principal Civil/Structural Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Role Summary

We are looking for a versatile Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team. This role is unique as it requires a blend of structural design expertise (for facilities and supports) and advanced civil site development skills. You will be the primary technical lead for designing midstream facilities (Compressor stations, MLV sites, Pump Stations, Storage facilities, foundations, and site infrastructure.  A mastery of AutoCAD Civil 3D is mandatory, as you will be responsible for moving projects from initial topographic analysis through to complex 3D modeling and construction-ready plan sets.

  

Key Responsibilities

1. Civil Design & Site Development (Civil 3D Focus)

  • Surface Modeling: Create and manage complex surfaces, corridors, and pipe networks within AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Earthworks:  Perform precise cut-and-fill calculations and grading optimization for well pads, compressor stations, and valve sites.
  • Hydrology:   Coordination in Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), including retention ponds, culverts, and drainage systems.

2. Structural Engineering

  • Foundation Design: Design reinforced concrete foundations for heavy equipment such as compressors, pumps, and storage tanks.
  • Steel Design: Engineer pipe racks, skid supports, catwalks, and maintenance platforms in accordance with AISC and ASCE standards.

Requirements

   

Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years' experience focusing on pipeline facilities and advanced civil site development. 
  • In depth knowledgeable of industry standards and codes published by ACI, IBC, AISC, ANSI, etc. and have the ability to apply the standards to civil & structural analysis & designs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • AutoCad Civil 3D
     

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer preferred

Work Environment/Physical Demands 

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment. 
  • Frequent sitting and operating a computer. 
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials.

  • Physical demands requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work.
