About the Position:

The Pre-Weight Technician is a critical role in our manufacturing process. This position serves as the first step in the production process, ensuring that raw materials are accurately measured before they are sent to compounding or mixing departments.


What You’ll Do:  

  • Knowledge and implementation of cGMPs, and regulations
  • Lead in verifying all incoming ingredients from warehouse before beginning the batch process
  • Handle raw materials by weighing each ingredient and verify the weights are accurate according to batch record
  • Follow proper mixing instructions and ingredient additions
  • Properly lift 25 kgs
  • Perform proper cleaning of equipment and verify cleanliness of equipment before use
  • Document all cleaning and batching in appropriate logbooks
  • Perform and meet daily schedule and goals
  • Immediately report any inconsistencies in the product to batching manager and/or batching lead
  • Understand product mixing and when to continue with batching
  • Understand and properly fill out paperwork with accuracy on a real time basis
  • Keep area clean and organized
  • Keep an accurate inventory on all ingredients and return unused inventory to warehouse properly labelled with accurate weights
  • Work with Scheduling for pre-weigh batches
  • Oversee pre-weigh team and processes
  • Review all ingredients on expire dates and work with Quality on extensions
  • Oversee all inventory in Non-Kosher and Kosher areas
  • Monitor Kosher and Non-Kosher raw ingredients
  • Perform scale calibration in all of pre-weigh and batching (Floor Scales, Bench Top, Load cells)
  • Monitor calibration logs and cleaning logs
  • Provide cross-training for all batching employees
  • Evaluate team member’s progress and provide feedback when needed
  • Work with other areas when needed

  • Current Food Handlers Permit
  • Initiate and close MDF
  • Aid in customer complaints
  • Ability to manage inventory accurately 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Pass a skills assessment exam with 90% or higher on both reading and math comprehension
