About the Company

Biolinq is a venture-backed digital health company developing a wearable biosensor platform that measures biomarkers important to the management of many clinical conditions including diabetes. This dynamic role is a part of a team of engineers and scientists developing a novel intradermal biosensor technology and the associated software data extraction and rendering SDK that will transform the way people manage their metabolic health. 


Job Purpose

The HVAC Facilities Engineer I is responsible for maintaining the major building systems, including air handling, air conditioning, physical plant, electricity, plumbing, co-generation, maintenance carpentry and exhibit work.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of preventive maintenance troubleshoots, repairs and installs HVAC, boiler systems and refrigeration equipment as well as building systems and controls. Uses a variety of specialized equipment for these systems.
  • Diagnoses and monitors building systems operations. Troubleshoot diagnostic from heat pumps, rooftops units, boilers, chillers and cooling towers, CAV’s, VAV’s and commercial self-contained units as send from building management system and        recommends repairs or replacement.
  • Operates grinders, welders and gas cutting/soldering torches to perform metal fabrication tasks.
  • Supports installations electrical wiring/piping of load and control circuits of all voltages.
  • Supports installations and adjustments to ducts and dampers of various material types.
  • Supports installations and aligns pumps, motors, belts, pulleys, and sheaves.
  • Identifies and resolves failures, replacing defective components, and troubleshooting using various tools and resources.
  • Required to perform all general building systems maintenance/repairs, and other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to carpentry, installing troubleshooting and repairing equipment fixtures, equipment, doors and locks. Use a variety of tools and equipment to perform these duties
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • This position is part of an On-Call rotation among HVAC facilities staff. Will be required to report to work as needed, outside of normal business hours.

Requirements

     

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 1 year experience in Facility Maintenance
  • Multi-skilled in technical disciplines with a minimum of 1 year required and two preferred: electrical, HVAC, machinery repair, carpentry, and general fabrication.
  • Must always exercise safe work   practices.
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal   supervision
  • Building Management Systems experience.
  • Experience working in a production environment.
  • OSHA 30 Hour construction safety certification or equivalent expertise managing jobsite safety.

 

Working Conditions

Exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke and loud noises. Strenuous physical work, such as heavy lifting, pushing or pulling objects over 50 pounds.  Exposure to outdoor elements, such as sun and rain. No travel required.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walking, standing, bend, squat, climb, twist, kneel.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 0-50lbs.
  • Ability to pull and push up to 0-100lbs.
  • Full functional range of motion in all major body joints from reaching, twisting, bending, simple and power gripping, fine and gross motor skills.

As part of our efforts to ensure fair and equal pay based on merit, Biolinq supports pay transparency internally and during the recruitment process.  The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this role is: $60,000 to $75,000 per year.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  Actual compensation packages are commensurate with experience and based on a variety of factors that are unique to each candidate including, but not limited to: skill set, depth of experience, education, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the job across the U.S.  The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.  Biolinq also offers a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick time, parental leave), medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and any written agreement between the parties.  Your recruiter can share more about the total compensation package during the hiring process.
