Travel Trainer – New London, CT Area

Full-Time | Frequent Travel Required

As a Travel Trainer, you’ll support individuals in building safe, confident, and independent transportation skills—opening doors to employment, education, and community life.


Important Location & Travel Note:
This role primarily serves individuals in the New London area. However, frequent travel is required, including attendance at new hire orientation at our Trumbull, CT headquarters (approximately two days) and ongoing travel throughout your territory.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach individuals how to safely use public transportation
  • Create and implement individualized travel training plans
  • Assess participants and track progress through documentation
  • Support communication with transit providers
  • Conduct outreach and maintain referral relationships
  • Travel regularly to community sites and trainings

Requirements

 What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma required (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • 1+ year experience working with people with disabilities
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable vehicle (required)
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
  • Strong communication and independent work skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk ½ mile
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
