About The Company
The mission of Redwood Coast Medical Services (RCMS) is to provide high quality, family-oriented, community based primary medical and dental care, including a broad range of preventive health services to residents and visitors within the coastal areas of Southern Mendocino and Northern Sonoma Counties. Sonoma-Mendocino coast RCMS is a not-for-profit health center providing a full range of healthcare services at its three clinics located in Gualala and Point Arena. Services are designed to meet identified needs of the community services, are integrated with other existing healthcare services and systems, and are evaluated on a regular basis to assure that community health needs are being met. As a not-for-profit corporation receiving public funds, RCMS provides services to qualified permanent area residents on a sliding fee scale basis, as well as to patients with MediCal and Medicare coverage, private insurance and self pay status. RCMS opened in 1977, incorporated and licensed as a community clinic in 1978 and was designated in 1999 as a Federal Community Health Center 330(e). RCMS is designated by the state as an Interim Stabilization Facility, allowing the clinic to receive ambulance transports.
About the Role

Description

  

RCMS is looking for a detail-oriented, patient-focused Registered Nurse to support our clinical teams by managing prescription refill requests—all from a remote setting. This role is critical to keeping patients safe, providers supported, and clinics running smoothly.

If you love clinical decision-making, clear protocols, and meaningful patient impact without the bedside grind, this might be your sweet spot.

This role is part time, Monday and Tuesdays.


What You’ll Do

  • Review and process prescription refill requests in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Coordinate with providers, pharmacists, and clinical staff as needed
  • Communicate clearly with patients and providers regarding refill status and follow-up needs
  • Document accurately and timely in the EHR
  • Flag issues requiring provider review (controlled meds, changes in condition, etc.)
  • Help ensure continuity of care for patients with chronic conditions

What We’re Looking For

  • Active, unrestricted CA RN license 
  • Strong clinical judgment and comfort working independently
  • Experience with medication management, triage, or ambulatory care preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and comfort working with protocols
  • Ability to work remotely while staying connected and responsive
