Quality and Environmental Manager

If you are curious & creative, invested in not only your own success but also the growth of others, and believe in building the Great Australian Food Company, then you might be the one for us!
Senior site leadership role with end‑to‑end accountability for Quality and Environmental performance, including leadership of a high‑performing Quality team.
Enterprise‑wide influence across site operations, strategy, and decision‑making as a key member of the Site Leadership Team.

The role
We are seeking an experienced Site Quality and Environmental Manager to provide strong leadership in food safety, quality, and environmental performance at our Lenah Valley site.
As a member of the Site Leadership Team, this high‑impact role influences all site operations, working closely with site and corporate teams to embed quality and environmental priorities into day‑to‑day decision‑making. Operating within Australia’s most stringent dairy regulatory environment, the role is critical in protecting brand and consumer trust while driving sustainable site performance beyond a traditional quality remit.
The Lenah Valley site, approximately 15 minutes from the Hobart CBD, manufactures more than 50 milk, milkbased and cream products using fresh Tasmanian milk. With around 50 employees and annual production of approximately 33 million litres, the site offers the scale of a regulated manufacturing operation alongside the lifestyle benefits of living in Hobart, including short commutes, amazing food and strong cultural identity.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop the site Quality team, setting clear expectations and driving strong performance and accountability.
Own and continuously improve Quality & Environmental Management Systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory, certification, customer, and community requirements.
Lead environmental compliance and regulatory engagement, including reporting and liaison with regulators and local authorities.
Influence site strategy and culture, operating as a key member of the Site Leadership Team to embed a proactive, ownership‑driven quality and environmental mindset.
Oversee audits, investigations, and reporting, ensuring audit readiness, effective issue resolution, and clear insights to support leadership decision‑making.
About You
Significant experience leading Quality and Environmental functions in highly regulated manufacturing environments, supported by expert knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and GFSI standards (BRC, FSSC or equivalent).
Proven ability to influence senior operational leaders and shape sitewide outcomes
Experience leading through regulatory scrutiny, audits and complex investigations
Demonstrated capability developing teams, lifting standards and building sustainable systems
Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills
