The Performance Improvement (PI) Manager will be based in Brisbane / Australia, and reports to the CCR APAC Director. This role will drive performance improvement across our Readymix (RMC) operations in Australia and Hong Kong by enhancing financial and non-financial KPIs. This role involves planning, communicating, and leading optimization initiatives, coordinating with various teams, and promoting continuous improvement across the entire RMC value chain.

About the role:

• Drive performance improvement at RMC operations by enhancing financial and non-financial KPIs.

• Support implementation and adherence to Minimum Operating Practices (Operating Model).

• Establish review cycles for operational and financial KPIs to continuously improve operating margins.

• Collaborate with country managers to share best practices and identify new opportunities.

• Monitor improvement initiatives and assist local management in achieving goals.

• Work with Global and HQ functions to shape the future of Heidelberg Materials’ RMC business.

• Plan, communicate, and lead optimization visits involving Sales, QC, Logistics, and Production teams.

What you need to be successful:

• Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

• 8+ years in concrete materials, particularly ready mix or related building materials industry.

• Strong knowledge of concrete production, plant engineering, processes, and control systems.

• Ability to understand operational, technical, commercial, and financial aspects of the business.

• Hands-on approach to applying technical recommendations.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to foster a data-driven management culture.

• Excellent communication and project management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

• Ability to coach and motivate peers without direct authority.

• Strong English skills; additional APAC languages are a plus.
