Driver / Activities Assistant

Description
We are hiring a Driver / Activities Assistant to help residents stay engaged, connected, and active. This role supports our Life Enrichment/Activities department by transporting residents to appointments and outings, assisting with activities and events, and helping ensure resident safety and a great experience throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to scheduled outings, appointments, and community events using company vehicle(s)
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety checks and report maintenance needs
- Assist Activities/Life Enrichment staff with daily group programs, special events, and community outings
- Help residents on and off the vehicle, including using mobility devices (wheelchairs/walkers) safely
- Track outing rosters, attendance, and required paperwork
- Support resident engagement by encouraging participation and providing respectful, friendly assistance
- Maintain a clean, organized activity areas and storage; assist with setup and breakdown
- Follow all safety policies, emergency procedures, and confidentiality standards
Schedule
- Full-time
- Weekdays with occasional evenings/weekends for events and outings
Qualifications
Required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (able to meet insurability requirements)
- Ability to safely operate a van/small bus (training provided if applicable)
- Comfortable assisting seniors, including those using mobility aids
- Strong communication skills and a calm, safety-first mindset
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs (with reasonable accommodation)
Preferred
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, transportation, or customer service
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with wheelchair securement and safe transfers (or willingness to learn)

- Activities are well-supported, organized, and residents are encouraged to participate
- Vehicle and equipment are maintained, clean, and ready for daily use

Work Environment
This role is active and people-facing. You’ll be moving throughout the community, assisting with events, and helping residents during outings in the community.
