About the Role

Description

Seeking a Manual Lathe Machinist with minimum a 7-10 years' experience to join us in machining metal parts such as steel, bronze, aluminum and babbitt. Candidates for consideration should have prior experience in machining. We are looking for people who have a real interest in being a machinist and want to join this trade.

Required physical & mental requirements include:

  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of both hands to manually move parts and function equipment.
  • The ability to speak clearly & communicate with others.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Maintain safe operating practices and guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment by keeping machine & work area clean.
  • Maintain continuity between co-workers.
  • Use material moving equipment.
  • Load and unload parts in and out of machine

Requirements

Requirements a plus:

  • Machine shop knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of functions of manual lathe.
  • Experience in close tolerance, manual work.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with lathe tooling
  • Use measuring instruments.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading.
