Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Duty Engineer to join our team in Chennai, India. As a Duty Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational excellence of our facility by ensuring all building systems are functioning optimally and addressing maintenance issues promptly.

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest and staff maintenance requests, resolving issues efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance using computerized systems
  • Implement and support preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
  • Monitor energy usage and actively participate in energy conservation initiatives
  • Respond to emergencies such as power failures, equipment breakdowns, and safety hazards with a sense of urgency
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and servicing
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including local building codes and regulations
  • Assist in supervising maintenance staff or technicians during shifts as required
  • Participate in shift rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays, demonstrating flexibility and resilience

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field and C lenience holder.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a detail-oriented approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Chennai
  • Knowledge of energy conservation practices and their implementation
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping, reporting, and using maintenance management systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to work in shifts and respond to emergency situations, demonstrating flexibility and resilience
