About the Role
Description
AD Innovations is an industry leader specializing in automation and control systems for the dairy industry. We design, build, and maintain advanced control systems that help our clients achieve efficiency, safety, and reliability in their operations.
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will install, repair, and troubleshoot control systems while supporting both field operations and new system designs.

Requirements
Essential Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repairs.
- Maintain and control truck inventory for tools, equipment, and parts.
- Obtain and maintain necessary certifications and training.
- Work collaboratively with engineers in the design and implementation of new systems.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and coworkers.
- Communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients.

Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Skilled in using tools and technology including phones, computers, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in inspecting, testing, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC systems.
- Proficient in diagnosing electrical malfunctions using test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Working knowledge of Ladder Logic and PLC programming.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as DH+, ControlNet, RS485, and Ethernet/IP.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electronic Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance, including PLC systems.
- Understanding of electrical and electronic principles, including safety standards.
- Experience with test instruments (volt/ohm meters, oscilloscopes, data analyzers, circuit testers).
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Experience
- Engineering or related field: 5 years (Preferred)
