Role Overview

As a Software Engineer in Test on the System Test team, you will contribute to validating system and integration behaviors within Nasuni’s distributed Cloud File Data Services platform.

You will design and implement automated tests in Python using our existing PyTest framework, helping ensure feature reliability across cloud, edge, and storage components.

This role is ideal for engineers who:

• Want to deepen expertise in distributed systems testing
• Enjoy writing clean, maintainable automation
• Are comfortable working in Linux environments

This role is not suited for candidates focused solely on manual testing.

Level & Scope Definition

You will:

• Implement and maintain automated functional and integration tests
• Expand coverage within existing automation frameworks
• Execute system-level validation under guidance of senior engineers
• Investigate test failures using logs and metrics
• Contribute to CI/CD integration of automated test suites

Impact Radius:
Feature to integration-level validation within distributed systems.

Autonomy:
Independent execution of assigned areas with mentorship support for complex system scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain automated test scripts using Python and PyTest
• Validate cross-component behaviors in distributed environments
• Execute regression and integration test suites
• Analyze logs and metrics to identify failures
• Reproduce reported issues and verify fixes
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD workflows
• Configure and maintain Linux-based test environments
• Contribute utilities and tools to improve test coverage

Must-Have Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in software testing or automation
• Hands-on Python programming experience
• Experience using PyTest or similar test frameworks
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Basic understanding of distributed systems or cloud environments
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to SMB, NFS, or CIFS
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience testing integration or system-level workflows
• Familiarity with containerized environments

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience validating distributed storage systems
• Experience improving automation stability and reliability
• Demonstrated growth toward system-level ownership

Experience Guidelines

• 2–5 years total experience in software engineering or test engineering
• At least 1–3 years of automation experience using Python
• Exposure to distributed or cloud systems environments
