Responsibilities

Hardware Engineer Intern’s responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:

  • Characterize high-speed optical transceivers
  • Characterize optical sub-assemblies (TOSA/ROSA)
  • Set up R&D Test stations, execute automation in test stations.
  • Write testing scrip in Python  
  • Execute debugging on test stations and modules
  • Execute Design Verification Tests. Write technical reports
  • Interact with internal design engineers in US and overseas  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will be enrolled in Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering or Physics.
  • Academic master student in the second year, intern time from Mar to Sep in 2026


Desired Qualifications

  • Candidates have taken graduate courses on optical communications, and/or RF, and/or high-speed analog circuit design. Other relevant areas can be considered.
  • Software development experience (Phyton)
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Lab experience with electronic, optical and RF equipment
  • Experience characterizing lasers, photodiodes, and active optical subassemblies.
  • Experience with optical transceivers or transmission optical subsystems
  • Solid knowledge of digital/analog circuit design, and optics
  • Experienced with Word Macro/Templates/Outline/Table, Excel, Matlab, PowerPoint
  • Data analysis skills
  • English communication skills.
