Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:
Responsibilities
- The Surgical Tech handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
- He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
- He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet at least one of the following:
- Graduate from an accredited program or equivalent.
- Certified Surgical Tech (CST).
- 1+ years’ of prior operating room experience.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
