About the Role
Job Description Summary
The Technical Excellence Program (TEP) is a two year structured development journey designed to build strong, technical talent by combining hands on operational experience with progressive technical skill building. In the first year, participants operate and master a full production line end to end before cross training on a second line, strengthening their troubleshooting capability, quality understanding, and exposure to continuous improvement. In the second year, they advance toward Technical Specialist level through shadowing senior specialists, supporting preventive maintenance, learning deeper equipment knowledge, and engaging in plant wide troubleshooting and improvement projects. Upon successful completion as Technical Specialist may receive education sponsorship and continue on a pathway toward future leadership or engineering roles.Job Description
Year 1: Build a Strong Technical Foundation
Rotation 1 (First 6 months) — Production Technician (1 Product Line)
- Operate and understand an entire production line end-to-end.
- Perform core machine operations, basic troubleshooting, and quality checks.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate closely with an assigned Shift Leader mentor.
- Develop into a capable Production Technician who understands line behavior and equipment performance.
Rotation 2 (Next 6 months) — Cross-Training on a Second Product Line
- Support operations on a different product or machine group.
- Strengthen hands-on technical skills on new machinery.
- Learn root cause analysis and enhance troubleshooting capabilities.
- Understand production flow, OEE principles, and quality requirements.
- Participate in Kaizen activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Gain versatility and adaptability across different lines and machine types.
Year 2: Advance Toward Technical Specialist Level
Rotation 3 (Months 13–18) — Technical Specialist Trainee (Shadowing Senior TS)
- Shadow a Senior Technical Specialist to develop deeper equipment knowledge.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and machine health checks.
- Support minor repairs and equipment adjustments.
- Learn to interpret equipment manuals, engineering drawings, and SOPs.
- Practise structured problem-solving and decision-making.
- Build technical depth and a clear understanding of the Technical Specialist role.
Rotation 4 (Months 19–24) — Technical Specialist Trainee (Exposure Across Plant / Asset Care)
- Rotate to another production line or Asset Care team.
- Support troubleshooting related to unplanned downtime.
- Participate in Kaizen, 5S, and efficiency improvement projects.
- Learn and apply systematic problem-solving tools used by engineers.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, trials, and commissioning activities.
- Become a well-rounded future Technical Specialist with cross-plant exposure.

Upon successful completion of the Technical Excellence Program:
- Progress your career to Technical Specialist role
- Eligibility for Education Assistance Program, including sponsorship for Diploma or Degree studies
- Continued development for future leadership, engineering, or advanced technical roles
Qualifications
- NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related fields.
- Strong interest in hands-on technical work and equipment troubleshooting.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn.
- Good teamwork, communication skills, and commitment to safety.
