About the Role

Description

Assists Physician and Registered Nurse with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Nurse Manager. Maintains an environment that is prepared for patient care. 

In addition to the clinical duties, the Lead Radiologic Technologist will also provide coverage when needed and provide day to day Radiology and Laboratory leadership and support. Oversees the laboratory and radiology department as described below. Oversees the daily operations of the Radiology Department by ensuring that the department operates and is compliant with all State, Federal and accrediting agencies (as applicable).


Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and assigns a radiology work schedule and is responsible for finding/filling all open shifts.
  • Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Properly operate x-ray and radiographic equipment to produce radiographic images of the human body for diagnosis by a radiologist.
  • Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of radiology and laboratory in their facility. 
  • Assigns API testing to clinical staff as well as performs proficiency testing (API) in compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations. 
  • Interprets new and existing regulations, advises leadership on technical and regulatory issues regarding the strategic direction of the radiation safety program applies strategic measures as appropriate.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. 
  • Knowledge of the current trends and techniques of x-ray technology.
  • Ability to learn to conduct quality control studies; learn to use computerized radiologic equipment; learn to operate a computer for recordkeeping purposes.


Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent with diploma/certification from accredited school of Radiology Technologist.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience as a Radiology Technologist at a hospital or emergency room setting.  
  • Current ARRT Certification required.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification required.
  • Current license from the Texas Medical Board (TMB) Radiology required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, reaching, and bending.
  • Physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of diagnostic examinations.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all Ally and customer data to which you are granted access. Any suspected compromises of Ally proprietary data or customer data must be reported to Management immediately.
  • You will adhere to the Company’s Information Security Policy and Procedures and support standard operating procedures to protect Company systems and data.
  • You will alert management immediately with any expected system or data compromises and/or system failure impacting the security, confidentiality, availability, and integrity of Ally Medical and customer data.
  • You will be required to attend an annual Information Security Awareness Training.
