About the Role
Description
Saw Operators are responsible for operating and maintaining saw equipment to cut metal materials according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of saws (e.g., band saws, circular saws) to cut metal materials to specified dimensions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine cutting requirements.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using measuring tools.
- Inspect materials for defects and ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a saw operator or in a similar role in a metal fabrication shop.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Previous overhead crane experience.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in cutting.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials.
