About the Role

Job Title

Mechanical Designer - STET

Job Description

As a Mechanical Designer, you will drive the design, development, and integration of electro‑mechanical components and subsystems. You’ll work hands‑on to build prototypes, validate designs, and ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory requirements. This role blends technical depth with cross‑functional collaboration and offers opportunities to influence design choices, mentor team members, and contribute to technology roadmaps.

Your role:

  • Design and detail mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.

  • Build prototypes, source parts, and support manufacturing readiness.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Systems, and other engineering teams to achieve project goals.

  • Translate requirements into design specifications; execute testing, verification, and integration activities.

  • Ensure robust module integration and communicate design impact on the larger system architecture.

  • Define HW/SW interfaces in consultation with relevant disciplines.

  • Document designs, maintain traceability, and ensure compliance with processes and standards.

  • Stay current with technical advances and introduce innovative concepts through feasibility studies.

  • Contribute to technology roadmaps and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Plan your work effectively, report progress, and support team motivation and execution excellence.

You're the right fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with 8-12 years experience.

  • Strong background in electro‑mechanical design, including complex parts and assemblies.

  • Hands‑on expertise in CAD/CAE tools (Creo, NX, LCM) and PLM/PDM systems (Windchill).

  • Experience with metal and plastic fabrication techniques.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and with suppliers.

  • Working knowledge of development methodologies and structured design processes.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt is an added advantage.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This is an office based role.
