You will oversee core accounting functions, manage both domestic and offshore team members, and play a key role in strengthening financial operations, audit readiness, and revenue accuracy. This position is remote; however, candidates must be located in the Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia (DMV) area. Local presence is required to support leadership collaboration, periodic in-person meetings, and ongoing alignment as the company continues to grow and scale.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Strengthen documentation and controls in preparation for growth or M&A activity (if applicable)

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior experience in leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of services-based accounting models

  • Experience in IT services, MSP, or professional services environment
  • Hands-on experience with Unanet
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required

What We’re Looking For

  • A leader who can manage people but is not afraid to get into the details
  • A process-oriented thinker who can improve systems without overcomplicating them
  • Someone comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
