Amphitheater. Opening in 2026, COTA’s amusement park, COTALAND, is on over 30-acres featuring
two first of their kind Roller Coasters and 30 rides.
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Senior Disbursement Accountant to join our
team. This role requires extensive full-cycle accounts payable experience, strong analytical skills, and
the ability to collaborate with internal departments and external parties. The Senior Disbursement
Accountant will be responsible for use tax accruals/remittances and assist shared service
departments in identifying costs to be allocated. The position will also assist the Director of Procure
to Pay in managing the department workflow volumes, completing assigned month-end closing
activities, and preparing the year-end tax documents (e.g., 1099s).
Requirements
Requirements & Essential Functions:
- Review invoices processed for the appropriate assessment and remittance of sales and use taxes. Reconcile items purchased for resale to items sold to determine the accuracy of sales tax remittances.
- Collaborate with shared service departments to ensure costs are accurately accumulated and allocated to the business segments being served.
- Process and verify vendor set-up requests and vendor invoices accurately and timely.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies or issues with vendor and internal teams.
- Provide backup support for the Procure to Pay team and the Director of Procure to Pay.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, internal departments, and the Procure to Pay team for escalations.
- Prepare reports, schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accrual and account reconciliations.
- Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives, including automation where possible.
- Maintain organized records and documentation to support audit requirements and financial reporting.
- Assist in year-end closing activities including the financial audit and the issuance of 1099s.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a high volume accounts payable or general accounting role.
- Extensive knowledge of accounts payables process and accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cross-functionally.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. In lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience may suffice.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle or NetSuite
- Familiarity with OCR processing platforms

- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
