Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AGL Engineer to take charge of our Aviation Infrastructure projects. In this role, you will not only design, develop, and implement airfield lighting systems but also coordinate across multiple disciplines. This position requires a blend of advanced technical expertise in airfield lighting and strong leadership skills to ensure safe, compliant, and innovative airfield operations.
- Lead and manage AGL designs, ensuring high-quality deliverables and continuous professional development.
- Drive the design of comprehensive airfield lighting systems, including runway, taxiway, approach, and apron lighting.
- Conduct photometric calculations and analyses to guarantee compliance with ICAO, FAA, and local aviation authority standards.
- Review and approve technical specifications and design documentation for AGL equipment such as constant current regulators, transformers, and lighting fixtures.
- Lead design review sessions and quality verification processes to ensure adherence to project timelines and safety standards.
- Oversee the integration of AGL systems with other airport infrastructure in collaboration with civil, electrical, and communications engineers.
- Manage contractor submittals, RFIs, and design modifications during the construction phase.
- Supervise site surveys and inspections to ensure installations meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Develop strategic plans for both new installations and the rehabilitation of existing airfield lighting systems, incorporating sustainable and energy-efficient technologies.
Engage in stakeholder meetings, providing updates and ensuring that project objectives align with overall aviation infrastructure goals.
Qualifications
- Experience in airfield lighting design or related aviation systems, with at least 5 years in AGL design management or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated expertise in aviation standards including ICAO Annex 14, FAA Advisory Circulars (particularly 150/5340 series), and EASA regulations.
- Proficiency with electrical design software, CAD tools, and lighting calculation applications.
- Strong communication, project management, and strategic planning skills.
