Reports to: Supply Chain Manager
On-Site Job Location: Williamsport, PA

Hours/Days of Position: Monday-Friday
The Senior Buyer position is a key role within our strategic plan for Supply Chain Management and will be responsible for Quoting material for existing customers. The role requires commodity strategy analysis, RFQ and award process, and supplier negotiations. Coordinate preparation of quotes in accordance with customer requests for quotes (RFQ's) for electronic assembly services. Primarily responsible for preparing the material portion of RFQ's, which includes analyzing bills of materials, specifications, supplier proposals, and other documentation to complete quote packages. What a typical day looks like:
- Analyze and quote materials using customer-provided data inputs, including Bills of Materials (BOM), approved manufacturer lists, custom design specifications, testing requirements, and scope of work data packages.
- Review customer drawings/prints to determine and capture additional requirements related to quote details or costs.
- Organize technical data packages to communicate effectively with outside suppliers.
- Coordinate and communicate with vendors to secure best pricing and delivery lead times through RFQs via quoting software, email and phone.
- Collaborate with internal team members and external suppliers to extract accurate data and information in a timely manner.
- Create and utilize spreadsheets for providing customers with finalized and detailed materials pricing reports.
- Maintain manufacturer, commodity and pricing tables in quoting software for accuracy and consistency.
Requirements
The experience we’re looking for to add to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in business, or Supply Chain Management preferred
- 5-7+ years of Purchasing/Planning experience in an Electronics Manufacturing company required.
- MRP planning system experience
- Knowledge of supply sources and marketing conditions in various commodities.
- Thorough understanding of operations principles (JIT, MRP, TQC, Lean, Six Sigma) required.
- Demonstrated experience and successful results in negotiation skills and strategies.
- Experience with quoting software such as QuoteWin, Silicon Expert, or CalcuQuote.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Must possess a thorough technical understanding of the various commodities assigned.
Preferred:
- APICS Certification
- Aerospace/Defense industry purchasing experience- FAR/DFARS knowledge

- Must be able to make independent decisions/judgments regarding analysis of requirements, analysis of quotes, negotiation, and source selection
- Must be able to read and understand drawings and technical specifications
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; must be able to navigate the Internet efficiently and effectively
