Job Summary
School Bus Drivers are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school and related events. Drivers pick up students at designated locations — such as homes or street corners — and ensure they arrive safely and on time.
Duties and Responsibilities

Safely transport students to and from school and/or school activities while following all safety procedures and state regulations.

Operate a school bus in various weather, road, and traffic conditions.

Comply with all traffic laws and drive in a safe and courteous manner.

Communicate and enforce bus rules, safety procedures, and behavior expectations.

Address student behavior appropriately and communicate with parents or guardians when needed.

Assist students boarding or exiting the bus, including those with special needs or equipment.

Perform daily bus inspections and basic maintenance (checking fluids, tires, cleanliness, etc.).

Maintain comfort by regulating heating, lighting, and ventilation systems.

Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time.

Operate a two-way radio and follow assigned routes using maps or written directions.

Maintain a clean and safe vehicle at all times.

Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements

CDL Class A or B — or the ability to obtain.

Endorsements: Passenger (P) and School Bus (S).

Ability to pass a DOT medical examination.
