PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

Description

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse for a permanent opportunity in Panama City, Florida.

This role supports a fast-paced Post Anesthesia Care Unit environment, providing immediate post-operative care to surgical patients. The PACU RN plays a critical role in airway management, neurological and cardiac monitoring, pain control, and early identification of post-surgical complications. This position requires strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and the ability to respond quickly to changing patient conditions.

The PACU Registered Nurse collaborates closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe patient recovery. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, managing surgical sites, administering medications, documenting care accurately, and educating patients and families during the recovery process.

Employment Details:

This is a permanent, full-time position. Scheduling is self/preferential and posted four weeks in advance. Leadership is highly visible and supportive, promoting collaboration and open communication. Staffing resources include CNAs, Patient Care Techs, Charge Nurses, and an internal RN float pool. On-call coverage is required and will be discussed during the interview process. Candidates must live within a 30-minute radius to meet on-call requirements.

Shift Details:

Mixed 10-hour shifts with varying start times including:

7:00–5:30

8:00–6:30

9:00–7:30

10:00–8:30

Nurse to patient ratio is 1:2.

Compensation:

Hourly pay is based on experience.

Pay Range: $26.40 – $39.60 per hour

Additional Compensation:

Shift differential: $2.50 after 3:00 PM

On-call pay: $4.00 per hour

Sign-on bonus: $15,000

Relocation assistance: Case by case

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of recent acute care PACU RN experience within the last year
• Facility strongly prefers candidates with critical care experience in addition to PACU experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
• Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree required
• Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) required within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 60 days of employment start date
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 60 days of employment start date
• Ability to meet on-call requirements, including living within a 30-minute radius
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
