The Registered Nurse in Medical Cardiology PCU provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care for higher-acuity cardiac patients requiring progressive levels of monitoring and intervention. This role assumes primary accountability for coordinating and delivering individualized care through a collaborative, team-based approach focused on safety, quality, and optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities include completing age-appropriate admission and ongoing assessments, developing and revising interdisciplinary plans of care, administering treatments and medications, and documenting care accurately within electronic medical record systems. The RN utilizes critical thinking, delegation, and communication skills to support effective care coordination and positive patient experiences in a progressive care environment.
Schedule:
Day, evening, and night shifts available with rotating weekend requirements.
Compensation:
Hourly compensation ranges from $30.47 to $45.71 based on experience.
A sign-on bonus is available up to $30,000 for experienced RNs or up to $20,000 for other qualified RN candidates.
Requirements
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or approved nursing program eligible for Virginia licensure
Licensure and Certification:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain Virginia licensure
- CPR certification required
- Ability to obtain ACLS, PALS, or NRP certifications as required by the department
Other Qualifications:
- Computer proficiency required for electronic medical record documentation
- Successful completion of orientation and competency requirements
- Ability to meet essential job functions
