POSITION SUMMARY

The Airline Catering Warehouse Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in Abby’s Catering’s aviation food safety and supply chain operations. This position oversees Custom Approved Storeroom (CASR) operations, receiving, storage, decanting, thawing, and internal distribution of dry, fresh, and frozen goods in full compliance with HACCP, FDA, GMP, CBP, TSA, and aviation catering standards.

This role ensures inventory accuracy, strict product rotation (FIFO), Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring, and regulatory compliance while leading a high-performance warehouse team in a 24/7 airport-regulated environment.


Location: Houston, TX (IAH Airport Area)  

Reports to: Warehouse Manager  

Schedule: Rotating shifts within a 24/7 aviation catering operation (weekends & holidays required) 


WAREHOUSE & FOOD SAFETY OPERATIONS

  • Supervise receiving, inspection, and proper storage of all incoming goods (dry, refrigerated, frozen). 
  • Oversee Custom Approved Storeroom (CASR) compliance and access control. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to HACCP plans and Critical Control Points (CCP) monitoring. 
  • Manage decanting and controlled thawing processes in accordance with food safety protocols. 
  • Enforce FIFO product rotation and expiration date control. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and adjust pars based on operational demand. 
  • Oversee temperature logs, sanitation logs, traceability documentation, and audit readiness. 
  • Ensure proper replenishment of disposables, packaging, beverages, and production control items. 
  • Coordinate internal distribution to kitchens and operational departments. 
  • Alert management to shortages, overstock, or urgent procurement needs. 
  • Maintain cold storage areas, freezers, and warehouse organization standards.
     

SAFETY & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

  • Ensure compliance with FDA food safety regulations, HACCP, GMP, and aviation catering standards. 
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) regulations for CASR operations. 
  • Enforce TSA, airport, and company security policies. 
  • Lead internal and external audit preparation and corrective action responses. 
  • Monitor and enforce OSHA safety standards and safe equipment operation. 
  • Ensure proper PPE usage and warehouse access restrictions. 
  • Report and investigate safety incidents, compliance deviations, and equipment issues. 
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Food Safety teams to maintain audit-ready operations.
     

LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Provide direct supervision to Warehouse Associates and Decanters.
  • Deliver training on food safety, sanitation, CCP monitoring, and operational procedures. 
  • Foster accountability, urgency, and operational excellence within the team.
  • Monitor productivity, accuracy, and compliance metrics. 
  • Support a 24/7 operation with flexibility during peak and blackout PTO periods. 
  • Maintain strong collaboration with Purchasing, Production, and Flight Operations teams.
     

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations within a food production or aviation environment. 
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety best practices.
  • Experience managing FIFO, temperature-controlled storage, and traceability systems. 
  • Ability to lead in time-sensitive, high-pressure environments. 
  • Strong organizational skills and systematic workflow management. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management systems. 
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments. 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Requirements

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in warehousing, food service, airline catering, or supply chain operations.
  • Valid food safety handler certification (required). 
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP compliance. 
  • Forklift certification (stand-in, sit-down, or pallet jack preferred). 
  • Ability to obtain IAH Airport ID (10-year federal background clearance). 
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly.
  • Valid driver’s license required. 
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation.
     

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Combination of warehouse refrigerated storage, freezer environments, and secure airport-regulated areas. 
  • Exposure to cold temperatures, outdoor weather, and high-traffic operational zones. 
  • PPE required at all times in designated areas. 
  • Fast-paced aviation catering environment with strict regulatory oversight.
