Job Summary: 

The Pediatrician (MD/DO) provides comprehensive primary and preventive medical care to pediatric patients from newborn through young adulthood (up to age 25, as clinically appropriate and consistent with organizational policy). This role emphasizes whole-child care, preventive services, chronic disease management, developmental surveillance, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team.


This position reports directly to the Medical Director and plays an active role in pediatric program development, including school-based health initiatives and strengthening care transitions across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities & Competencies:

Clinical Care

· Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care services, including newborn care through young adulthood.

· Conduct well-child exams, sports physicals, developmental screenings, and immunizations.

· Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions.

· Provide anticipatory guidance and family-centered education.

· Coordinate care with specialists, behavioral health, dental, and community partners.

· Facilitate structured transition planning for adolescents and young adults transferring to adult primary care services, including care coordination, medical record transfer, and warm handoff communication when appropriate.

· Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic health record.

· Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with HRSA, UDS, and HEDIS measures.


Program Development & Administrative Responsibilities

· Collaborate with the Medical Director in the development and expansion of pediatric programming.

· Participate in the design and implementation of school-based health programming.

· Contribute to development of standardized pediatric-to-adult transition protocols and workflows.

· Support population health initiatives addressing social determinants of health impacting pediatric and young adult patients.

· Participate in interdisciplinary case review and performance improvement activities.


Qualifications:

Required

· Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

· Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics.

· Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license.

· Active DEA registration.

· Current BLS certification (PALS preferred).

· Ability to provide care to newborns through young adult populations (up to age 25, as appropriate).

· Two (2) professional letters of recommendation.


Preferred

· Experience in community health, FQHC, or underserved settings.

· Interest or experience in school-based health programming.

· Experience working in interdisciplinary or integrated care models.


Work Schedule

Full-time position. Participation in evening or school-based programming may be required.
