We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Detail Associate to join our production support team. The detailer will be responsible for cleaning, polishing, and maintaining the appearance of boats to ensure they look their best. You will be working on both the interior and exterior of boats, using various cleaning products and tools to restore and maintain their aesthetic quality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and detail both the interior and exterior of boats, including decks, hulls, cabins, and all surfaces.
  • Wash, wax, and polish boat exteriors to restore shine and protect against the elements.
  • Clean and vacuum interior spaces, including seats, carpets, and upholstery, removing dirt, stains, and debris.
  • Clean and polish metal and wood components, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Apply protective coatings to surfaces such as upholstery, leather, and vinyl to preserve their appearance and prevent damage.
  • Clean and maintain boat windows, removing streaks and ensuring clarity.
  • Detail engine compartments, bilges, and other mechanical areas to remove grease, grime, and debris.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure boats are spotless and meet company standards before being handed over to customers.
  • Provide minor touch-ups to the boat's appearance, such as buffing out scratches or stains.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the detailing area, tools, and equipment.
  • Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment, following all safety guidelines.
  • Occasionally assist with boat preparation for storage, delivery, or seasonal maintenance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a detailer, preferably in the marine or automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of marine cleaning products, waxes, and detailing tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality results.
  • Ability to work with a variety of cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to work on boats for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is typically performed outdoors, at marinas, or in boatyards.
  • Exposure to various weather conditions while working on boats outdoors.
  • Handling cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment, with necessary safety precautions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment, materials, and boat parts up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and bend for extended periods while detailing boats.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform detailed cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, or at heights when detailing larger boats or hard-to-reach areas.

Schedule:  Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm,  with occasional weekend assignments.


This role is based in a boat manufacturing or repair facility. The work environment may involve exposure to chemicals and fumes, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
