Supply Chain Manager

Location: Evansville, WI/Janesville, WI (Multi-Site Responsibility)
Job Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Vice President of Operations
Direct Reports: 4–5 team members across multiple locations

  

Position Summary

Baker Manufacturing Company, LLC is seeking a results-driven Supply Chain Manager to lead and strengthen our end-to-end supply chain operations across multiple divisions and manufacturing facilities.

This role provides day-to-day leadership of the supply chain and manufacturing planning teams while serving as a strategic partner to Operations. The Supply Chain Manager will work in close collaboration with plant leadership to ensure reliable, cost-effective sourcing, production support, logistics execution, and inventory optimization.

This position is responsible not only for managing purchasing and planning functions, but also for organizing, standardizing, and continuously improving Baker’s supply chain structure, systems, and performance across all locations.

The ideal candidate is process-oriented, experienced in structured forecasting and planning processes (SIOP), and capable of balancing cost, service level, and operational efficiency in a multi-site manufacturing environment.

  

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

  • Develop and execute a supply chain strategy aligned with Baker’s operational and financial objectives
  • Lead 4–5 direct reports across multiple locations, providing structure, accountability, and performance management
  • Standardize supply chain processes across facilities to drive consistency and scalability
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure lead time, service levels, inventory performance, and cost reduction
  • Drive      initiatives to reduce product lead times and improve on-time delivery performance to 95% in partnership with Operations

Operational Partnership

  • Serve as a key business partner to Operations, Production, Finance, and Sales
  • Align purchasing, planning, and material flow with production schedules and customer demand
  • Support automation initiatives and foster a continuous improvement culture
  • Participate in SIOP/demand planning processes to improve forecast accuracy and execution
  • Support growth initiatives and integration of new processes across divisions

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Lead strategic sourcing for domestic and international suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts and long-term agreements focused on cost reduction and reliability
  • Establish supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost) and drive accountability
  • Develop contingency and risk mitigation strategies to reduce supply disruptions

Inventory, Logistics & Planning

  • Improve inventory accuracy and optimize working capital across facilities
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including 3PLs and freight partners
  • Improve demand planning tools and forecasting processes
  • Drive scrap reduction and warehouse accuracy improvements
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations and import/export requirements

Process Improvement & Systems Optimization

  • Utilize ERP systems (EPICOR preferred) and data analytics to drive informed decision-making
  • Lead process automation and digitalization efforts within supply chain functions
  • Champion lean principles and structured continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build scalable systems that position Baker for future growth

  

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, planning, or logistics
  • Experience managing direct reports, ideally across multiple locations
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (EPICOR preferred), forecasting, and inventory management
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations and cost reduction initiatives
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required
  • Knowledge of international sourcing and trade compliance preferred

Requirements
