About the Role

Looking for a meaningful contract dental role where your skills directly support a mission-driven community? Work with Prairie Band Health Services, Indian Health Service and White Earth Health Center in White Earth, MN.

We are seeking an experienced Contract Dentist for a full-time locum contract opportunity within the IHS outpatient dental clinic. This position offers the opportunity to serve American Indian and Alaska Native patients in a collaborative, patient-focused clinical setting.

 Are you passionate about making a real impact on community health? Work with Indian Health Service at the White Earth Health Center Dental Clinic in White Earth, Minnesota. We are seeking Contract Dental Hygienists to join our dedicated team in providing high-quality oral healthcare to Native American communities. 

  • 40 hours per week
  • Full-time flexible Contract, Up to 1 year with Extension Options 
  • Clinic is open  Monday through Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm 
  • Schedule varies based on clinic needs; flexibility may be required.
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and contract terms.
  • May float to sister clinics
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical dental setting (IHS or community health experience is a plus).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine dental cleanings, scaling, root planing, and fluoride treatments.
  • Conduct patient screenings, including taking and reviewing dental X-rays.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care.
  • Assist dentists in examining and treating patients as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Follow infection control and sterilization protocols in accordance with IHS and CDC guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care tailored to the needs of the Native American population.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
  • Active and unrestricted state dental hygiene license (in any state)
  • Certification in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical dental setting (IHS or community health experience is a plus).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, living primarily in the United States
  • Must be willing and able to pass Federal Security Clearance
  • Ability to work full-time
  • Immunization Records will be required if hired
