Flexsys is a chemical manufacturing company with operations in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia. It produces tire additives that enhance the strength and durability of tires for leading manufactures around the world.  We are a global supplier of rubber chemicals and solutions including insoluble sulfur, anti-degradants, and stabilizers. Flexsys has immediate openings for Chemical Operators at the site in Sauget, IL. Selected individuals will ensure all production activities are conducted in a safe, responsible, and environmentally sound manner in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. This includes:

  • Maintaining, controlling, and monitoring process equipment following standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshooting process problems as necessary and performing minor maintenance
  • Staying abreast of process changes and communicating status at shift turnover meetings
  • Taking samples and performing minor analytical tests, monitoring the results of the samples and taking corrective actions if necessary
  • Recording process and production data according to departmental requirements
  • Supporting supervisors and engineers to troubleshoot problems and enhance production, quality, and safety.
  • Staying up to date on computer software and equipment (Delta-V, SAP and Outlook)

The salary range for this position ranges from $42.52 to $43.83 an hour once fully qualified, with a new hire rate of $34.23 an hour.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to excel in a team environment while working with minimal supervision.
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety and environmental processes and procedures.


Required Experience:

  • 3 years manufacturing experience or a 2-year degree in any field 
  • Chemical processing background preferred.
  • If you have taken a chemical operator or process operations course at any      institution, please indicate that on your resume.

In addition to the above requirements, all external candidates must meet the following:

  • Successful completion of a physical assessment
  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able to repeatedly climb and descend stairs/ladders of up to eight stories.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts that include weekends.
