THE STRAND HOUSE IS LOOKING FOR OUTGOING AND EXPERIENCED HOST TO JOIN OUR TEAM! THIS IS AN HOURLY POSITION THAT INCLUDES THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN TIPS!*

As the first person that our guests meet, we are looking for someone with enthusiasm, and high energy who can make a great first and lasting impression to ensure that their dining experience is a positive one!

If you answered yes to all of the above, WE WANT TO MEET YOU!THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF...

• Minimum of 2 years of hosting experience in a high volume, fine dining restaurant required, 3+ years preferred
• Minimum of 1 year using with OpenTable
• Positive attitude and excellent communication and people skills
• Professional demeanor and a warm inviting personality (both necessary)
• Ability to anticipate guests needs and handling different expectations
• Demonstrative ability to address and resolve challenging guests needs and request with professionalism
• Ability to collaborate with multiple different team members
• Excellent phone etiquette (a must) and prior multi-line phone experience is a plus
• Ability to shift gears quickly and multitask at the highest level
• Walk up and down the stairs at our multiple level restaurant

WHAT YOU WILL DO...

• Be the warm and welcoming face of the restaurant!
• Practice genuine hospitality with each and every guest
• Monitor the floor and be aware of what tables are available
• Estimate wait times for guests and ensure that their needs are met while they wait
• Answer the telephone, book reservations, and arrange tables to accommodate large parties
• Use OpenTable software for reservations
• Contribute to team effort. Being a team player above all is mandatory!
