The Village Companies – Shared Services
The Shared Services teams support all companies across The Village organization by providing essential business functions including HR, Finance, IT, Maintenance, and Finished Goods Warehouse operations. Serving as the backbone of the organization, these teams partner closely with every division to streamline processes, enhance communication, and help each business succeed. Shared Services plays a critical role in keeping everything running smoothly while driving continuous improvement across the entire Village.

About the Role:
The Industrial Engineer & Facilities Manager is responsible for improving operational efficiency, optimizing processes, and overseeing maintenance and facility operations across the organization. This role combines industrial engineering expertise with leadership of the maintenance and facilities team to ensure equipment reliability, safe operations, and continuous improvement.
Operating within a shared services model, this position provides engineering, maintenance, and facilities support to multiple brands. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to improve workflows, maintain facility infrastructure, and ensure equipment and systems operate efficiently to support business operations.
Hours & Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday office hours
Pay Range: $85,000-$100,000 annually
Responsibilities:
Industrial Engineering & Process Improvement
- Analyze operational workflows, production processes, and material flow to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Design and implement process improvements that increase productivity, reduce waste, and optimize labor utilization.
- Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow optimization projects.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
- Partner with operations, warehouse, and logistics teams to improve overall facility performance.
Shared Services Support
- Provide engineering, maintenance, and facilities support across multiple departments and operational functions.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify operational challenges and implement solutions that improve efficiency and reliability.
- Prioritize maintenance and improvement projects based on organizational needs and operational impact.
- Ensure consistent standards, processes, and service levels across supported teams and facilities.
Maintenance Management
- Lead and manage the maintenance team responsible for equipment upkeep and repair.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
- Track equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Manage maintenance schedules and coordinate activities to minimize operational disruptions.
Facilities Management
- Oversee facility infrastructure including building systems, utilities, and safety equipment.
- Ensure the facility is maintained in a safe, functional, and efficient condition.
- Coordinate facility upgrades, equipment installations, and improvement projects.
- Manage vendor relationships for facility services, repairs, and maintenance contracts.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and support a culture of workplace safety across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Identify and address potential safety risks related to equipment, processes, and facilities.
- Partner with leadership to implement corrective and preventive safety measures.
Project Management
- Lead facility and equipment improvement projects from planning through implementation.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and vendor coordination.
- Support new equipment installations, facility layout changes, and infrastructure upgrades.
Team Leadership
- Supervise maintenance and facilities personnel.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance management for team members.
Materials and Equipment Utilized:
- Computers, printers, etc.
Working Environment:
- 10% Manufacturing: clean, low to moderate noise, safety glasses required and other personal protective equipment (PPE) where applicable.
- 90% - Office Environment
Requirements
Education/Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operational improvement.
- Experience managing maintenance or facilities teams preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-department or shared services environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems and equipment reliability programs.
- Project management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze operational data and drive process improvements.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Be able to lift at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. for short periods.
