About the Role

Description

The Facility Maintenance Lead will oversee, develop, and execute all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance in support of safe, efficient, and scalable speaker manufacturing operations. This role will build and manage a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, supervise maintenance workflows, and lead facility improvement projects, including production floor layout changes, equipment installations, and infrastructure upgrades.


Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive Maintenance Program (New Higher-level Functions)-Level Functions)

  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance (PM) program for all facility systems, CNC machines, manufacturing equipment, and building infrastructure.
  • Establish PM schedules, documentation standards, checklists, and maintenance intervals compliant with manufacturer specs and operational requirements.
  • Monitor PM effectiveness using KPIs such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and equipment uptime.
  • Ensure maintenance records are accurate, complete, and auditable.

2. Equipment & CNC Systems Oversight

  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and optimization of CNC machines and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software issues to minimize downtime.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and recommend replacements, upgrades, or modernization. Includes forklifts, transfer truck, and other motorized equipment.
  • Coordination of equipment rentals.

3. Project Management & Facility Layout Changes (New Higher-level Functions)-Level Functions)

  • Serve as project manager for facility improvement initiatives, including: production floor layout redesigns, relocation or installation of machinery.
  • Utility routing changes (electrical drops, compressed air lines, HVAC adjustments).
  • Create project timelines, budgets, scopes of work, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, engineering support, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure changes follow safety, regulatory, and operational standards.

4. Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC Systems

(Expanded from Technician-level duties)

  • Oversee repairs and upgrades to electrical systems, lighting, power distribution, and controls.
  • Manage plumbing maintenance (water lines, drains, fixtures) and ensure compliance with relevant codes.
  • Maintain HVAC systems for climate stability; coordinate complex repairs with certified technicians.

5. Safety, Compliance & Facility Infrastructure

  • Conduct facility inspections to identify hazards, structural issues, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, local building codes, and internal safety standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis for facility incidents and implement corrective actions.-cause analysis for facility incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure floors, walls, ceilings, doors, and building systems are properly maintained.

6. Leadership, Vendor Management & Budgeting

  • Supervise maintenance personnel (internal or contracted).
  • Manage maintenance inventory, spare parts, and contractor relationships.
  • Develop and manage the facility maintenance budget, including capital expenditures.
  • Provide training to staff on equipment care and safety practices.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7–10+ years industrial or facility maintenance experience (manufacturing strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience creating or managing a preventive maintenance program.
  • Proven project management experience with facility layout changes or equipment installations.
  • Background in CNC systems maintenance a strong plus.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, facility plans, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficient with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or asset tracking tools.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and reliability based maintenance techniques.-cause analysis and reliability-based maintenance techniques.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Comfortable working on ladders, in tight spaces, or in noisy/dusty environments.
