We are seeking a data-driven, insight-oriented Retail Sales Analyst who can transform complex data into actionable strategies. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of analytics, merchandising, and regional retail strategy—someone who can identify trends, optimize assortments, and communicate insights that drive sustainable growth.


  Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze  customer sales and inventory data to uncover trends, opportunities, and risks across retail customers and channels. 
  • Facilitate weekly, monthly, and seasonal performance reviews with sales leadership and key account managers, presenting actionable insights derived from Excel, Domo/Power BI, and SPS Commerce to drive informed decision-making.
  • Build data-driven sales presentation materials highlighting Point-of-Sale (POS) performance, assortment productivity, and inventory planning; partner with sales team members to review findings, provide insights, and support strategic planning. 
  • Execute ad-hoc analysis and strategic recommendations for impromptu business requests, delivering high-impact visuals and data-driven narratives on  short notice.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, inventory planning, and marketing teams to align assortment strategies and promotional calendars. 
  • Evaluate  the impact of pricing, promotions, and merchandising decisions on sell-through and margin, presenting findings to cross-functional teams and leadership through compelling visual storytelling. 
  • Present insights and narratives at biannual seasonal product launches in the Salt Lake City office, ensuring data aligns with the overarching Go-To-Market strategy.
  • Integrate market trends with retail performance data in partnership with Consumer Insights to ensure a unified narrative across all business reporting.


Requirements

  

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+  years of experience in retail analytics, business intelligence, or retail merchandising including buying, planning, allocation, and merchandising. 
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, Ablebits). 
  • Expertise in BI tools - Domo preferred.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs: sell-through, stock turns, margin, promotional lift, etc.
  • Exceptional  communication and presentation skills—able to translate data into coherent, actionable insights. 
  • Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills, with a proven ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor while building trusted  relationships with sales team members.
  • Meticulous approach to data integrity, including the proactive identification of inaccuracies and the implementation of corrective actions within large datasets.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for regional retail dynamics and consumer behavior.      
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a proven ability to surpass goals while working independently.
