Schedule Highlights

  • Enjoy a mix of day, evening, and night shifts with 6‑, 8‑, or 10‑hour shifts.
  • Weekend rotation is minimal — currently once every 5th weekend is required.
  • Two 8‑hour holiday shifts per year.
  • One 8‑hour call shift every 5 weeks provides additional variety and flexibility.

What You’ll Do

As a valued member of our imaging team, you will play a key role in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate diagnostic services. This role performs ultrasound procedures at an independent technical level while collaborating closely with physicians and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support physicians during invasive procedures while strictly following universal protocol standards.
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency by coding and tracking exams in the RIS system, networking images to ISITE, and entering all associated charges.
  • Perform High-Level Disinfection (HLD) of devices, supplies, and/or equipment as needed.
  • Educate and reassure patients, explaining procedures in a clear, calming way to support cooperation and reduce anxiety.
  • Verify patient identity using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for every procedure.
  • Review clinical information, including physician orders and patient history, to determine the most appropriate protocol for high‑quality imaging.
  • Perform a spectrum of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, integrating patient history, lab results, and physical findings to support accurate diagnosis under direct physician supervision.
  • Collaborate with your team, demonstrating respect, compassion, and strong communication with patients and coworkers.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment confidently, using proper instrumentation, scanning techniques, and protocols to ensure optimal image acquisition.
  • Capture high‑quality anatomical images, documenting normal and abnormal findings using cross‑sectional imaging, measurements, and applicable data tools.


Education

  • Completion of a CAAHEP‑accredited Ultrasound program is required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • RDMS or RVT certification (or registry‑eligible) preferred.
  • Completion of the Physics portion of the registry is preferred.
  • Must obtain RDMS or RVT certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required.
  • Acceptable certifications include:
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
    • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)

Required Clearances

  • Act 31 – Child Abuse Reporting (with renewal)
  • Act 33 – Childline Clearance (with renewal)
  • Act 34 – Criminal Background Check (with renewal)
  • Act 73 – FBI Fingerprint Clearance (with renewal)
