Help Strengthen Families and Build a Healthier Community


Alliance for Community Transformations is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-focused Program Specialist to join the Mariposa Family Resource Center (MFRC) team.


This role supports families, caregivers, and youth through early intervention services, group programs, and community engagement that strengthen mental health, resilience, and connection.

Key Responsibilities

Work Directly With Families

  • Support individuals and families seeking resources, referrals, and early intervention services
     
  • Assist with case management support for caregivers and at-risk children and youth
     
  • Help connect participants with County Mental Health and community resources
     
  • Follow up with participants to support progress and engagement

Facilitate Programs and Groups

  • Facilitate or co-facilitate groups, workshops, and classes
     
  • Support evidence-based programs such as Nurturing Parenting
     
  • Create welcoming, inclusive, and non-stigmatizing environments for participants
     
  • Assist with participant surveys and program evaluations

Plan Community Activities

  • Support toddler and preschool outings that encourage child development
     
  • Help organize family events, movie nights, and community gatherings
     
  • Assist with healthy living activities such as cooking classes and walking groups
     
  • Provide outreach in community settings throughout Mariposa County

Support Community Events

  • Assist with clothing drives and community support initiatives
     
  • Help organize and run Frock Swap events
     
  • Assist with event setup, organization, and participant flow

Administrative and Office Support

  • Help manage daily office operations including reception and scheduling
     
  • Enter program data and maintain required documentation
     
  • Assist with reporting and program materials
     
  • Help keep the Family Resource Center organized and welcoming

Additional Information

  • Schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
     
  • Occasional evening or weekend events may be required
     
  • Travel throughout Mariposa County required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED  
  • Experience working with families, youth, or community programs  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Reliable transportation and valid California driver’s license  
  • Ability to travel throughout Mariposa County  

Preferred

  • College coursework in social services, education, psychology, or related fields  
  • Experience facilitating groups or classes  
  • Experience working in community-based or inclusive programs  

Certifications (required or obtainable after hire)

  • Mandated Reporter Training  
  • Mental Health First Aid  
  • CPR and First Aid  
  • Group Facilitation Training  
  • Grief Education
