Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Digital Intern will support the Digital team to produce high-quality content that will be distributed across CNBC.
This role is ideal for university undergraduates aspiring to explore a career in multimedia news journalism. You will have a keen interest in and passion for business, economics and financial markets, as well as social media and other digital platforms. There will also be the opportunity to learn about business and markets, as well as the fundamentals of journalism.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Work closely with colleagues in both Singapore and Europe to support the research and production of digital articles.
- Pitch, report and write news and features stories for publication on CNBC.com.
- Ingest articles from partner organizations into CNBC’s content management system when required.
- Help the Audience team to produce social media posts, driving traffic to the site and raising awareness of the brand.
- Collaborate with the wider Singapore newsroom, including with TV, Features and Digital on joint projects and news pitches, including aiding with research and fact-checking when required.
- Clip videos from TV output for CNBC.com.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- University undergraduates majoring in business, economics, mass communication, media production, or similar.
- Must have the legal right to work in Singapore. Only candidates with existing eligibility to work in Singapore will be considered.
- Flexible approach to shift patterns with the ability to work early morning start times.
- Available for a full time, 6-month internship from June-January
- Keen interest in business news, economics, and financial markets.
- Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks while operating under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a face-paced news environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to engage and interact with stakeholders at varying levels.
- Willingness to learn and proactively take initiative.
- Fluency in English language is essential in order to write feature stories in English.
