At Parc Center for Disabilities, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience life to the fullest. Our Discovery Learning Center is a warm, inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities.
We are currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated One-Year-Old Classroom Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. If you’re looking for a meaningful role where your work truly impacts children and families every day, this may be the perfect fit.
What You’ll Do
As a Teacher in our One-Year-Old Classroom, you will help nurture each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued
- Planning and leading engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands-on learning
- Supporting children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies
- Tracking developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold
- Building strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning
- Collaborating with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team
- Following Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements
- Our classrooms are staffed based on children’s needs, not just minimum ratios, allowing you to focus on quality care, strong relationships, and meaningful instruction.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- CDA (Child Development Associate) or formal early childhood education
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children
- Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision)
Ideal Candidate Qualities
- A genuine passion for working with children and families
- Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to inclusion
- Knowledge of developmental delays and disabilities (e.g., ASD, ADHD, sensory needs)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles

Monday–Friday
7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
