About the Role

Description

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships, and coordinating with the catering team to ensure successful event execution. This role requires strong sales skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a keen understanding of the catering industry.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and expand the client base. Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and grow existing accounts.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences to deliver tailored catering solutions. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process and event execution.
  • Proposal and Contract Management: Prepare and present detailed catering proposals and contracts to clients. Negotiate terms, pricing, and service agreements to close sales and secure contracts.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with the catering team to ensure that client expectations are met and that events are executed smoothly. Oversee the planning and coordination of catering services, including menu selection, setup, and logistics.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and pricing strategies. Use this information to develop competitive and compelling catering packages.
  • Sales Reporting: Track and report on sales performance, including revenue, client acquisition, and market penetration. Prepare regular reports and updates for management.
  • Customer Feedback: Gather and analyze client feedback to continuously improve catering services and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the catering operations team to ensure alignment between sales and service delivery. Assist in training and mentoring new team members as needed.


Requirements

WORKING REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS

  • Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience Required: 
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the catering or hospitality industry.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Skills/Abilities: 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in sales and CRM software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for client meetings and events.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

  • Prolonged Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk, using a computer, or attending meetings.
  • Dexterity and Fine Motor Skills: Frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse, as well as handling documents, contracts, and other office supplies.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to read and interpret documents, contracts, and reports, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Auditory Skills: Ability to hear and understand conversations during client meetings, phone calls, and presentations.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the office and attend events or client meetings at various locations. Must be able to navigate different environments and manage event logistics.
  • Driving: Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a personal or company vehicle to attend client meetings, site visits, and events. Must be able to handle varying traffic conditions and navigate to different locations effectively.
  • Occasional Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for tasks such as transporting promotional materials, event supplies, or presentation equipment.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to varying physical demands based on client meetings, event setups, and travel requirements.
