Product Data Specialist

Description

The Product Data Specialist is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of product data within Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) and across company platforms. This role ensures complete and accurate item setup, costing, compliance data, and documentation to support operational efficiency and business continuity.

This position requires strong attention to detail, ERP proficiency—specifically within Epicor Prophet 21—and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining data integrity, consistency, and process alignment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Product Data Creation and ERP Management

• Mass creation of new item IDs using import tools within Epicor Prophet 21
• New item creation for individual items in Epicor Prophet 21
• Coordinate new item pricing with Pricing Specialist
• Add suppliers, pricing, costs, and cross-references within Epicor Prophet 21
• Edit item IDs within ERP
• Update price lists with new item costs
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for assemblies
• Create and maintain secondary process predefined routes
• Update ERP with discontinued products
• Maintain item notes, including packaging details
• HTS (Harmonized Tariff System) import and classification
• Maintain package quantities
• Maintain UPC (Universal Product Code) barcode data
• Maintain accurate product weights and dimensions

Operational Support

• Process PO acknowledgements via Conexiom
• PO expediting and vendor follow-up within Epicor Prophet 21
• Order office and operational supplies as needed
• Manage corporate attire and merchandise orders
• SDS preparation and maintenance
• Develop written SOPs for product assembly
• PO and OE entry for sample orders
• Reporting and data analysis
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience working with ERP systems; Epicor Prophet 21 experience strongly preferred
• Experience with product data management, item setup, purchasing support, or ERP administration
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high levels of data accuracy
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong data integrity discipline
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data import tools
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
