Location: Las Vegas, NV (In-Office)

ColdTech Refrigeration is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Project Estimator to join our growing team in Las Vegas. 

This role is ideal for a skilled estimator with experience in Design/Build and Plan/Spec commercial mechanical construction who enjoys working on technically complex HVAC systems and collaborating with project teams from concept through bid.

If you understand HVAC systems beyond the surface level—load calculations, ventilation design, duct sizing, and equipment coordination—this is an opportunity to play a key role in winning and delivering major commercial projects.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Estimator – Commercial HVAC, you will prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects while working closely with project managers, vendors, and general contractors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents from owners and general contractors
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for Design/Build and Plan/Spec HVAC construction projects
• Calculate AC and heating loads for offices, restaurants, and warehouse environments
• Determine ventilation requirements including exhaust fans and louvers for warehouses
• Calculate heating requirements for frost protection systems in warehouses and pump rooms
• Collaborate with CAD designers to size and locate ductwork, rooftop equipment, and split systems
• Assist with determining locations for ventilation systems, thermostats, and equipment layouts
• Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids
• Prepare and submit project bids and proposals
• Participate in project design and coordination meetings with internal teams and general contractors
• Maintain accurate bid records and project documentation
• Identify and evaluate project risks before bid submission

What We’re Looking For

• 4–8+ years of experience in Commercial HVAC estimating or mechanical project estimating
• Experience with Design/Build and Plan/Spec commercial projects
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ventilation design, and mechanical construction methods
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and project teams
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative construction environment
