Northstar Behavioral Health believes we can help people affected by opioid addiction to identify and achieve goals that will help improve their lives. The primary goal and objective of the Northstar Behavioral Health residential treatment program we have developed is to reduce harms associated with illicit drug use by providing access to Suboxone, Buprenorphine, and Methadone, counseling, and access to other community-based services within our facility. Our vision is to improve the health and wellness of opioid dependent persons by providing an accessible service, which in turn will help them return to being a productive member of the community. We are a group of compassionate, client-centered, caring individuals who understand the epidemic that is Heroin and opioid addiction. We will treat those individuals in our facility through a friendly, genuine, empathetic, respectful, non-judgmental, reflective, and supportive approach to opioid treatment. Purpose Statement: 

To drive all Northstar Behavioral Health vehicles legally, safely and responsibly, taking either; groups of

passengers, goods or individuals on a demand responsive basis, to and from different destinations. To be

flexible and willing to work at short notice, in normal working hours but also occasional evenings, holidays

and weekends.


Key Result Areas:

  • Attendance 90% per month
  • On-time for appointments 90% of the time
  • Have clients back for group on time in the mornings 90% of the time
  • One issue per month regarding gas in the vehicles

Requirements

Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)


  •  Ensure high standards of customer service are applied at all times
  •  Transport clients to and from appointments, intake pickups, discharge drop offs, etc.
  •  Be aware of and follow all safety practices/risk assessments at all times
  •  Attend any relevant team meetings and/or training to support continued professional
  • development
  •  Effective time management skills
  •  Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team
  •  Understanding of working in a confidential manner
  •  Transport passengers in a safe and responsible manner
  •  Ensure that vehicles are cleaned on a regular basis (inside and out)
  •  Inspect the vehicle daily and report any defects or damage to supervisor; as well as coordinate all
  • maintenance of vehicles in a timely manner
  •  Check transportation calendar on “google calendar” on a daily basis
  •  Open and effective communication with technician supervisor, Clinical staff and Nursing staff to
  • coordinate effective and efficient transportation for clients
  •  Adherence to Northstar Behavioral Health policies and procedures
  •  Strong observational skills - pay attention to clients and have the ability to take control of any
  • situation
  •  Ensure all passengers in the vehicle are compliant, safe and nonvolatile
  •  Pick up supplies for company as needed
  •  Remain responsible for company gas cards and receipts
  •  Ensure vehicles have a minimum of a half a tank of gas by end of day
  •  Maintain proper boundaries with clients
  •  Ensure first aid kit and emergency kits are fully stocked
  •  Ability to have flexibility in schedule
  • Maintain adherence to dosing policies and procedures


Required Skills and Experience (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work

experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge skills and abilities).


  •  First Aid / CPR Certified or willing to become certified within 30 days of hire
  •  Must have 1 year free from substance abuse
  •  Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  •  Must have a driver's license
  •  Must have a clean driving record
