Process Engineer

For one of our clients operating a major refinery site in Switzerland, we are currently looking for an experienced Process Engineer to support engineering studies and plant improvement initiatives.
Job Description
The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing appropriate technical solutions during engineering studies in order to enhance the safety, reliability, and performance of refinery operations, while applying current guidelines and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering
Apply and follow Process Design Standards (PDS), especially during Assess, Select, and Basic Engineering phases when required.
Provide process engineering support activities, including:
Shutdown requisitions
Maintenance support
Plant modifications
Project support
Design support requests
Ensure that all engineering activities meet schedule, quality, and safety standards.
Identify opportunities within projects to optimize CAPEX and OPEX.
Review and approve process engineering deliverables.
Process Safety
Participate in process safety reviews, including:
HAZOP studies
What-If analyses
LOPA studies
Contribute to SIL assessments for both existing and new Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF).
QHSE
Ensure full compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards and internal procedures.
Actively contribute to the prevention of incidents and report any adverse events using the internal reporting system.
Update or correct Management System documentation related to engineering activities when necessary.
Qualifications
7–8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas / refining industry
Strong experience in process engineering within industrial environments
Good knowledge of process safety methodologies (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL)
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent
Languages
Fluent English required
French is a strong advantage
Additional Information
