About the Role
As a Patient Care Technician, you are dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient centered care by assisting with activities of daily living, personal care, and comfort needs. You will work under direct nursing supervision to support assigned patients while promoting their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

You support patients with daily activities, personal care, and comfort, helping them feel safe and valued. By working closely with nurses, you play a vital role in meeting each patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, ensuring their overall well-being is always a priority.
Patient Care and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, and hair care.
- Provide comfort measures such as back rubs, repositioning, and assistance with toileting (e.g., bedpans, enemas).
- Support patients during meals by serving food, providing nourishment, and ensuring adequate hydration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including making beds and keeping rooms neat.
Clinical Support and Procedures
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, weight, intake and output, and hourly rounding in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as specimen collection and assisting with patient transport.
- Assist with admission and discharge process in accordance with established protocols.
- Support postmortem care as directed by nursing staff.
Observation, Reporting and Documentation
- Observe and report changes in patient condition, including physical symptoms, behaviors, and complaints.
- Identify and promptly report signs requiring medical attention (e.g., pressure injuries, wounds, bruising, infections, or abnormal findings).
- Document care provided and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
Infection Control and Environment Support
- Clean and maintain patient care equipment according to infection control standards.
- Ensure utility rooms, closets, and supplies are organized, stocked, and ready for use.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards.
- Demonstrate compassion, respect, and sensitivity to patient comfort and dignity.
- Participate in required training, educational programs, and in-service meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Current Kansas state CNA certification.
- Prior clinical experience preferred.
- BLS preferred.

Position Details
Schedule:
- Full-time PCT’s are expected to work 36-40 hours per week. Rotating schedule includes weekends and holidays. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
- Part-time PCT’s are expected to work 2 shifts per week, including one weekend per month and one major and minor holiday per year. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
- PRN PCT’s work shifts as they are able. No guaranteed hours. Punctual attendance is required.
Physical Requirements: Occasional sitting, frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting/carrying 10-50 pounds with occasional lifting/carrying 51-75 pounds; frequent reaching/grasping, twisting, pulling/pushing, occasional exposure to sharp instruments, exposure to dust and fumes. Frequent exposure to equipment. Continuously writing in English and working irregular hours.
Equipment: Ability to operate equipment safely.
