Job Description
Position Overview
The HVAC Engineer – Airports will be responsible for the design review, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC systems for airport infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring efficient climate control, ventilation, and air quality systems in terminals, control buildings, and other airport facilities while complying with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- HVAC System Design & Review
- Review HVAC design drawings, specifications, and calculations for airport facilities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with design consultants and contractors for HVAC system implementation.
- Installation & Site Supervision
- Supervise installation of HVAC systems including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ducting, ventilation systems, and piping.
- Ensure proper installation as per approved drawings and technical specifications.
- Monitor contractor activities and ensure timely project execution.
- Testing & Commissioning
- Oversee testing and commissioning of HVAC systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Conduct system performance checks including airflow balancing, pressure testing, and system optimization.
- Ensure systems meet airport operational requirements and energy efficiency standards.
- Coordination & Project Management
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams for smooth integration of HVAC systems.
- Monitor project progress and report any technical issues or delays.
- Maintain proper documentation, inspection reports, and commissioning records.
- Maintenance & Compliance
- Support preventive maintenance planning for HVAC equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and energy efficiency regulations.
- Troubleshoot HVAC system issues and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Engineering.
Additional Information
- Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of experience in HVAC systems, preferably in airport, metro, or large infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of chillers, ventilation systems, ducting design, and air distribution systems.
- Familiarity with HVAC design software and relevant standards.
- Experience in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting HVAC systems.
- Good coordination and project management skills.
